The 2023 Sydney Futsal Cup is being merged into the Futsal Championships being held at the PCYC Hawkesbury on 25-29th September 2023.

All teams registered for the Sydney Futsal Cup are granted automatic acceptance into the Futsal Championships when they register.

The Sydney Futsal Cup was established in 2019 as a response to a need for a fully inclusive annual tournament for Clubs and Academies in NSW.

Our friends from Futsal Oz in Victoria and Gold Coast International in QLD have been doing amazing work in the futsal space, and we needed something to match for NSW.

Our inaugural event in 2019 was a huge success thanks to the support of all the Clubs and academies who joined and our valued team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.

The hard times came when were shut down in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID. However, we came back even stronger in 2022 and had an exciting plan for 2023.

Demand for Futsal in NSW has increased astronomically, and the Sydney Futsal Cup was almost sold out without the NSW Club teams being able to register.

As a result, the Futsal Championships were created to accommodate the Club teams; however, there was an inadvertent clash of dates with the Sydney Futsal Cup due to venue availability.

We (Sydney Futsal Cup and the Futsal Championships) have a priority to build futsal as a sport.

Given that the Futsal Championships had access to a larger venue that could accommodate a larger capacity of teams, including separate girls' teams, we have decided to merge into the Futsal Championships this year.

This collaborative approach will continue to support the growth of futsal in NSW and Australia.
